Limited Editions & Certificates of Authenticity - African Wildlife Fine Art Prints – Every Purchase for a Noble Cause

Limited editions are a promise to collectors: each photograph is available only in a carefully defined, finite number of fine art prints. This preserves the rarity of your piece and protects the value of your collection over time.

For Gabriel Haering’s African wildlife work, editioning is also a way to honour the animals and landscapes portrayed. Each print is produced with care, individually inspected, signed and numbered. A portion of the proceeds supports ATKYE’s education projects in Kenya, so the impact of each edition extends well beyond the frame.

On this page you will find a clear overview of how edition sizes are structured, how certificates of authenticity work, and how artist proofs and exhibition prints are handled.
Gabriel works with a small number of clearly defined edition families. Within each family, the total edition size is fixed and shared across the available print formats (for example, 50 prints in total for all large and medium sizes combined).

Below is an overview of the main lines currently offered in the shop. Exact sizes, papers and prices for each photograph are listed on its individual product page.

Please note: the numbers below describe the maximum edition sizes. For some images, fewer prints may ultimately be produced and sold.

Every limited edition fine art print is accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity. This document is your proof that the work is an original print by Gabriel Haering and that it belongs to a specific, finite edition.

Each certificate typically includes:
  • Artist’s name and signature
  • Title of the photograph and location
  • Edition number and total edition size (for example, 7/30)
  • Print size and paper type
  • Printing process and year of printing
  • Date of signature and, where relevant, exhibition references
Certificates are issued in the name of the purchaser and are shipped separately from the print or enclosed in the package, depending on the shipping option and destination. Where technically feasible, a discreet matching code on the print and certificate is used to strengthen traceability.

For legal details about warranties, returns and ownership, please refer to the Terms of Sale page.
In addition to the numbered edition, Gabriel may produce a very small number of artist proofs (often marked “AP”) and exhibition prints.

Artist proofs are prints made for the artist’s own use, to check the rendering of tones, papers and sizes before the numbered edition is finalised. They are not part of the numbered edition, but they are signed, marked as artist proofs and documented in the artist’s records.

Exhibition prints are works produced specifically for gallery or museum displays. When an exhibition print is later offered for sale, it is clearly described as such and its status in relation to the main edition is explained on the product page. Pricing for artist proofs and exhibition prints, when available to collectors, is aligned with or slightly above the corresponding numbered edition, reflecting their scarcity and history.
When a limited edition is sold out, no further fine art prints are produced in that specific edition and at the defined sizes. Collectors who own a print from a sold-out edition can be confident that the scarcity of their work is respected.

The underlying photograph, however, may still appear in other contexts that do not compete with the original fine art prints, such as:
  • Books and catalogues
  • Editorial publications
  • Charity material for ATKYE
  • Online portfolio and communication uses
Any new fine art edition of the same image (for example, in a radically different format or process) would be treated as a separate edition and clearly described as such, with its own edition size and documentation.

Specific resale rights, copyright and usage conditions are outlined in the Terms of Sale.
